A history buff and passionate reader, he also enjoyed riding with his “Riders of the Limberlost” ATV gang, sunset pontoon cruises on Oxbow, and travelling the world with Lynda. Murray was a classic car enthusiast and enjoyed cruising the roads of Lake of Bays and Huntsville in his red 1968 Chrysler 300 convertible – bought in memory of the year he and Lynda were married.

He also volunteered with Huntsville Meals on Wheels as a Board member and driver for many years and served on the Lake of Bays Township Councilor’s Advisory Committee. He was an active church member in Windsor at Westminster United Church, then Trinity United Church in Huntsville, serving on their Boards in a variety of capacities and singing in the choir. Murray dedicated himself to the community, joining the Lake of Bays Fire Station 50 as a volunteer in 2003, retiring from the role of Acting Captain after 12 years. He started his career with Chrysler and retired in 2002 from their advertising agency Ross Roy Communications / BBDO.Īfter retiring, Murray and Lynda moved to their cottage on Oxbow Lake near Huntsville, where they enjoyed time with family and friends. Predeceased by his parents, Grace and Irwin Arnold, Murray was born in Windsor, Ontario, graduated from Kennedy Collegiate, then from the Business Administration program at St.
He will be missed by many friends and family. Beloved husband of 54 wonderful years to Lynda (Taylor), loving father to Tim (Tracie Tino), Laurie (Paul Helesic), Amy (Réal LeClerc), proud grandfather (“Papa”) to Alyshia (Travis DeWolfe), Ryan, Tyler, Kyle, Taylor (Jen) and Nate, adoring great grandfather to Lydia, and brother to Keith.
